Escher String Quartet
The Escher String Quartet has been receiving wide acclaim for its individual sound, inspired artistic decisions and extraordinary cohesiveness. Within months of its inception in 2005, the group was invited by both Pinchas Zukerman and Itzhak Perlman to be the quartet-in-residence at each master’s summer festival. It has since performed at prestigious venues and festivals across the United States, including Lincoln Center, the 92nd Street Y, the Ravinia and Caramoor Festivals, and others. The Escher has collaborated with eminent artists like Leon Fleisher, Lynn Harrell, Jeffrey Kahane, Joseph Kalichstein, and Pinchas Zukerman, among others. This season, the Quartet continues its CMS Two residency at the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center.

Friday, March 27, 8:00 P.M.
Amelia Piano Trio
Formed in 1999, the Amelia came to the fore after participating in Isaac Stern’s Chamber Music Workshop at Carnegie Hall in 2000. Mr. Stern became a mentor and presented the ensemble’s Carnegie Hall debut at Weill Recital Hall. The Trio went on to perform in many major venues, including Carnegie Hall, 92nd St. Y, Ravinia, Caramoor, Merkin Hall, Barge Music, and others. In 2003, the group became the National Public Radio Young Ensemble in Residence. The Amelia’s critically acclaimed performances, recordings on the Cedille Records and Naxos labels, and teaching prowess have earned it national renown. The Trio will perform works by Shostakovich, Chopin, and Dvorák.

Alexandra Beliakovich, Piano
Ms. Beliakovich has performed extensively as a recitalist and soloist with the Belarusian State Symphony Orchestra and the Belarusian State Chamber Orchestra. In addition to the Belarusian State Philharmonic Hall, the Vitebsk Philharmonic Hall and other prestigious venues in her native country, she has performed at the Yamaha Center and Goethe-Institute in New York, and in Spain, Lithuania, Poland, Ukraine, and the U.S.A. She will perform works by Haydn, Brahms, Bartok, Chopin, and Prokofiev
